Crazy cowgirl

Joleen Lawson, Owner of Crazy Cowgirl

We met Joleen and her husband, Craig, while living in Kansas years ago. Their practice arena became known as the ‘Awesome Lawson Arena’, not for the arena itself, but for the atmosphere that follows the Lawsons wherever they go. They are warm and welcoming, competitive, FUN, hard-working, and the kind of friends you never let go of.

Joleen got into team ropings as a young woman in Wyoming. She was borrowing a horse in trade for flagging team ropings…where she soon also met her husband. That was 40 years ago and they’ve been enjoying team roping together ever since. They feel team roping has enriched their lives as they’ve enjoyed meeting good people and seeing great places, and they’ve certainly enriched the team roping community wherever they go. Joleen has recently taken her business acumen into the roping industry.

Joleen started Crazy Cowgirl in 2013 after closing her bowling business that she’d owned and operated for 34 years. During her years in the bowling business, she had worked closely with coaches and players developing products to improve performance and mental focus. It was a natural transition to take one of these ideas to the team roping industry when she developed her rope holders engraved with quotes to inspire confidence or encourage a specific mental focus. An example of these custom quotes are:

·         “You Can”

·         “Follow Through”

·         “Score”

With these pre-made or custom options, she now provides for clinicians and producers, often providing the producer or business name on back. The front can display the prize level or a fundamental unique to the clinician’s style of coaching.

Crazy Cowgirl product offerings now include other western gear. Check out her website to see rope holders, stylish ballcaps and t-shirts, but keep in mind every is customizable! Give her a call to discuss.
